What you will do
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The primary purpose of the Coordinator is to develop and maintain/manage a cost effective cardiology inventory management system and to collaborate with the cardiac Program Managers, members of Materials Management/Purchasing Department, Physicians (cardiac surgeons, interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, cardiologists and cardiac anesthesiologists), Perfusion Medicine, Respiratory Therapy, Electrodiagnostics, Clinical Engineering and Maintenance Departments in the acquisition of appropriate major and small equipment and supplies.

To be a support and resource for the Cardiac Program Managers at all sites in Horizon.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Resolve supply and equipment problems related to clinical use and quality to ensure the appropriate products are available when needed to provide safe patient care.

Coordinate and direct the duties of the laboratory materials personnel.

Determine educational needs of members of the cardiac multidisciplinary team with respect to supplies and equipment and develop strategies to ensure appropriate education is delivered.

Provide education for cardiac program representatives on relevant materials management philosophies and processes.

Identify for the Managers and clinicians all new equipment, instrumentation and supplies requiring staff education

Where applicable, standardize Cardiac Program supplies and equipment and manage inventory.

Review all products in use and work towards ensuring that only one product is used for the same purpose in all sites.
