Principal Software Developer – Platform Integrations

Position Overview

Our Trust Software Development is seeking a Principal Software Developer to join the Platform Integrations team in a fast-paced, agile environment. This is a senior technical leadership role with broad organizational impact.

In this role, you will act as a technical authority and trusted advisor for security-related integrations across the development platform. You will combine deep expertise in application and cloud security with strong business acumen to translate organizational objectives into scalable, secure, and sustainable technical solutions.

You will work closely with senior development leaders, product management, security leadership, and cross-functional teams to shape strategy, influence architectural direction, and drive best practices across the organization. The ideal candidate is highly self-directed, comfortable operating in ambiguity, and capable of solving complex, multi-dimensional problems with long-term impact.

• Lead the technical vision and architecture for security tool integrations across development pipelines, ensuring alignment with business priorities, risk posture, and long-term platform strategy
• Translate complex security and platform requirements into business-aligned technical solutions, influencing roadmaps and investment decisions across teams
• Solve highly complex, cross-cutting problems by taking a broad systems perspective, evaluating multiple variables (technical, organizational, and commercial), and identifying innovative, pragmatic solutions
• Act as a subject-matter expert and advisor to senior leaders, providing guidance on application security, cloud security, Dev Sec Ops , and CI/CD integration strategies
• Drive the technical roadmap, balancing delivery, technical debt reduction, scalability, security, and operational excellence across multiple initiatives
• Establish and promote best practices, standards, and patterns for secure design, integration, and deployment, influencing teams beyond immediate ownership
• Lead or significantly influence large, complex initiatives or programs within the Trust or Platform Development space, coordinating across functions as needed
• Mentor senior and mid-level developers, raising the technical bar through design reviews, architectural guidance, and thought leadership rather than direct task ownership
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging threats, and evolving standards (e.g., NIST SSDF, OWASP), and proactively incorporate relevant insights into organizational practices

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 8–12+ years of professional software development experience, with demonstrated impact beyond a single team
• Deep expertise in AWS, including services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, and security-related services
• Advanced proficiency in Python, with the ability to design and review complex, production-grade systems
• Strong experience designing and operating CI/CD platforms and Dev Sec Ops  workflows using tools such as Jenkins, Git Lab CI, or CircleCI
• Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Cloud Formation) at scale
• Strong understanding of containerized and cloud-native architectures, including Docker and Kubernetes
• Demonstrated ability to design scalable, secure, and resilient systems that operate in complex organizational environments
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership
• Extensive experience working in Agile environments, influencing processes rather than just participating in them

• Experience with additional languages such as Java or Go
• Deep knowledge of secure architecture and design principles, threat modelling, and industry standards (e.g., NIST SSDF, OWASP)
• Prior experience acting as a technical lead across multiple teams or initiatives, without direct line management
