We're seeking an experienced English-to-Canadian French Translator to support the creation and review of learning content within a large enterprise learning environment.
This role sits within a Learning Content team and works closely with instructional designers, content creators, subject matter experts, and corporate translation partners with a focus on:
French linguistic quality assurance (QA)Review of French narrationSmall to medium English-to-Canadian French translation requestsYou should understand how learning content works so you can preserve learning objectives, instructional flow, assessment intent, and learner experience throughout the translation process.
What you’ll do
Translate English learning content into natural, professional Canadian FrenchReview French translations for linguistic accuracy, consistency, readability, and terminologyCompare English source content and translated content to identify omissions, inaccuracies, and meaning shiftsReview AI-generated French audio narration for:PronunciationPacingCadenceNaturalnessOverall learner experienceEdit and proofread translated content to ensure quality and consistencyApply approved terminology and corporate language standardsCollaborate with instructional designers, writers, SMEs, and translation stakeholdersTranslate and review eLearning modules, facilitator guides, learner materials, presentations, and supporting documentation.Support ad hoc translation requests under tight timelinesContribute to continuous improvement of translation and QA processesWhat you bring
5+ years of professional experience translating from English into Canadian FrenchNative or near-native proficiency in Canadian French (Quebec French)Professional experience translating from English into Canadian FrenchDemonstrated experience editing and performing linguistic QA on translated contentExceptional command of grammar, syntax, style, and usage in Canadian FrenchExperience working with terminology databases, style guides, and translation standardsStrong proofreading and quality-control skillsAbility to maintain consistency across large content setsExperience collaborating with stakeholders, reviewers, and SMEsStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple prioritiesExperience delivering high-quality work under tight deadlinesFamiliarity with eLearning development tools such as Storyline and RiseBonus points if you have
Experience translating learning, training, or eLearning contentFamiliarity with instructional design concepts and adult learning principlesExperience reviewing AI-assisted translations or AI-generated narrationExperience with CAT tools, AI-assisted translation, or AI-generated narration reviewFamiliarity with enterprise terminology databasesExperience working in financial services, banking, insurance, healthcare, or other regulated environmentsThe client, the domain, and the tools can be learned. Your expertise in professional translation is what matters most.
