Are you a hands-on leader with strong technical skills and a passion for maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient mill operations? If so, this could be the right opportunity for you.

In this position, you will supervise a team responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mill equipment to maximize uptime and ensure safe production. You'll coordinate work orders, support preventative maintenance planning, and partner closely with operations mangers to ensure equipment readiness. The salary range for this position will be $70,000 - $120,000 depending on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

Drive a Health & Safety culture and ensure policies and procedures are followed, and accident investigations conducted

Supervise Industrial Mechanics and outside contractors on repairs, ongoing improvements, and shutdown planning and execution

Lead improvement of Maintenance Best Practices and plant operating practices

Develop a culture of Continuous Improvement

Data collection and analysis, including financial analysis of potential and active projects

Ensuring projects are in control and measuring savings

Monitor, track and enhance current equipment availability

Training and development of apprentices

Coach maintenance team on JDI values and work assignments

Qualifications
  • Education Required:
    • Trade Certification or Associate's Degree in a related technical field
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of supervisory experience
  • Mechanical knowledge and experience in industry is mandatory
  • Hands on experience with predictive and preventative maintenance practices
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing and maintaining reliability improvement initiatives
  • Project management and prioritization skills is required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and JD Edwards E1 are an asset
  • Advanced computer skills and working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
  • Exposure to a manufacturing facility is considered an asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate team members
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Valid driver's license and clean drivers abstract
  • Lean Six Sigma training is considered an asset
