As a Healthcare Security Officer with Paladin Security, your mission is to protect the people, patients, and facility that make this care possible. In this role, success comes from balancing active safety awareness with compassionate customer service. You will be a reassuring presence for patients and healthcare staff while keeping daily facility operations secure.

Conduct regular foot patrols across hospital premises, including clinical units, patient areas, entrances, and parking lots.

Monitor surveillance cameras and security systems to identify potential safety hazards or unauthorized access.

Manage access control to restricted hospital departments.

De-escalate tense or emotional situations using calm, professional verbal communication.

Respond quickly to medical emergencies, fire alarms, and security calls in collaboration with hospital staff.

Assist patients, visitors, and medical staff with directions and general guidance while maintaining hospital safety standards.

Complete clear, objective daily activity reports and incident documentation.

Build strong, trusting relationships with hospital personnel and your security team.

Master healthcare-specific crisis response and safety protocols.

Pay Rate: $21.60 per hour (overtime rate applies after 44 hours per week).

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).

Legal authorization to work full-time in Canada.

Fluency in written and spoken English.

Required health records:
Documentation of immunizations for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, and Varicella, plus a completed two-step Tuberculosis (TB) skin test.

Valid Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certifications, or completion of Paladin's prerequisite training prior to onboarding. (Paladin covers full course fees for candidates who commit to six months of service; training hours are unpaid).

Prior experience in security, customer service, law enforcement, or healthcare settings.

This is a full-time position located on-site eph's Hospital in Saint John, NB, reporting directly to the Client Service Manager. The role involves physical activity, including walking patrols, standing for periods during shifts, and responding actively to calls across the facility.
