Long Haul Truck Driver

Responsibilities

• Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, GPS or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
• Load and unload goods.
• Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes.
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Oversee condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
• Perform brake adjustments.
• Perform emergency roadside repairs.
• Perform pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip inspection and oversee all aspects of the vehicle.
• Perform preventive maintenance.
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
• Tarp the cargo and ensure its safety and security.

• Education:
  
  Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• Transportation/travel experience:
  Long‑haul.
• Valid driver’s licence.

• Flexible hours.
• On‑call.
• Day shift.
• Weekend shift.
• Overtime available.

• Any experience is an asset.

• AZ class license.
• Accident or incident reports.
• Driver logbook.
• Inspection report (pre‑trip, en‑route, post‑trip).
• Maintenance and repair reports.
• Trans‑border documentation.

• Tractor‑trailer A train.

• Willing to travel cross‑border.
