Position Title: Special Education Teacher
Qualifications:
- Required: Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree with a valid Missouri teaching certificate.
- Preferred: Previous experience.

Direct Report: Director of Special Programs/Building Principal
Terms of Employment: 9 Month
Eligible for emergency telework: Yes
Purpose: Prepares, develops, coordinates and oversees work experience internships for students with disabilities between the St. Joseph School District, Mosaic Life Care and several community agencies.
Essential Job Functions- Attend work in a regular, reliable and punctual manner.
- To “telework” when requested by the District.
- Gather and evaluate IEP data.
- Maintain special education compliance in all areas.
- Matches student needs, skills and interests with available internship opportunities.
- Meet regularly with appropriate Mosaic supervisors to ensure successful internship placements.
- Problem-solve issues that may arise regarding student interns.
- Provide necessary training to students prior to placement, and ongoing support once assigned.
- Must have strong professional communication skills.
- Manage IEP responsibilities for each student.
- Other duties assigned.
