Scope of the Role

Advance student potential and your own by collaborating with teachers to deliver individualized services and support to small groups of students. Monitor student behavior, track educational progress, communicate with parents, and reinforce learning and skills through our proven model.

Responsibilities
  • Instructional Coaching and Staff Development
    • Provide coaching and modeling to certified staff to enhance instructional quality and student engagement.
    • Mentor DSAP teachers, ensuring they receive support in professional development and compliance expectations.
    • Offer targeted support to LTS teachers during vacancies or transitions.
    • Provide real‑time feedback and support to Assistant Teachers (ATs) and 1:1 instructional staff.
  • Instructional Coverage and Continuity
    • Model effective instructional strategies in the classroom for teachers, focusing on LTS staff.
    • Serve as the lead teacher when a classroom vacancy exists, ensuring instructional plans are followed and student needs are met.
    • Assist in lesson planning and delivery aligned with individual education program (IEP) goals and academic standards.
  • Assessment and Compliance Support
    • Support administration of all state and internal company assessments.
    • Assist with student performance data collection and analysis to inform instruction and IEP development.
    • Ensure ACI and SPC documentation and responsibilities are completed in collaboration with the School Director.
    • Monitor and promote instructional practices that align with compliance expectations under state guidelines and outplacement policies.
  • Leadership and Program Support
    • Support instructional leadership at up to three school sites.
    • Work onsite each day per Regional Director‑approved schedule to provide consistent, hands‑on support.
    • Collaborate with school teams and leadership to strengthen instructional programs and ensure regulatory and programmatic compliance.
  • Professional Collaboration and Communication
    • Collaborate with staff, families, and service providers to support student achievement.
    • Participate in team meetings, instructional leadership meetings, and staff professional development.
    • Communicate regularly with the School Director regarding programmatic needs and progress.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in special education is required (valid teaching certification in lieu of an advanced degree). Valid teaching certification is required.
  • Demonstrated success in instructional coaching or staff mentoring roles.
  • Knowledge of state and federal special education laws (e.g., IDEA, Section 504).
  • Experience with data‑driven instruction, assessment practices, and compliance documentation.
Posted Salary Range

USD $45,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year.

Physical Requirements
  • Run short distances and move swiftly to respond to student needs, including bending, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Lift and assist students with mobility challenges, often handling up to 50 pounds.
  • Manage fine motor tasks, such as helping students with writing and using adaptive devices.
  • Operate a computer or tablet for up to 8 hours daily.
  • Notice and respond to non‑verbal student cues.
  • Remain calm and composed during physically and emotionally demanding situations, ensuring student safety and well‑being.
