Position InformationPosition Title Recreation Facility Assistant Department Recreation Services Appointment Term Academic Year (August - May) FLSA Non-Exempt Job Summary
The student employee’s main duties lie in the management and execution of the policies and procedures of the Baker Family Fitness Center and Looney Complex as set forth and regulated by Missouri Western State University (MWSU).
Essential Duties- Validating MWSU ’s and memberships upon arrival through the Banner system.
- Administering and checking required facility paperwork (i.e. assisting with record-keeping)
- Enforcing policies and procedures to patrons specific to assigned location.
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the equipment and facilities.
- Tracking equipment inventory through the Banner system.
- All other duties as assigned.

- Degree Seeking
- At least an overall 2.0 GPA
- Enrolled at least part-time (6 hours)
- For summer employment must be either enrolled in summer courses or have completed spring semester and be enrolled at least 6 hours for fall semester.
- May need to qualify for Federal Work Study
- Must be able to lift or push a minimum of 45 pounds.
- Exercise Science, Recreation, or Sports Management majors;
- or a strong background in computer science, video games, or management.
- Currently CPR/AED certified.
- Be able to assert authority to peers, faculty, staff, and community patrons.
- Good communication skills.
Medium Work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
May be able to continue to work next summer if position is budgeted and you meet student employment guidelines.

Hours of WorkAnticipate 10 hours per week. Hours may vary.
