Location: Kansas City or St. Joseph, MO area (various grain elevators, flour mills, soybean processing plants in the Midwest and North Carolina). Frequent travel required.
Compensation: $110,000 per year and up.
Days/
Hours:
Monday-Friday; largely at home most weekends. Occasional weekend work rare.

The Industrial Electrician & Controls - Project Manager oversees planning, execution, and completion of electrical and automation projects across Bartlett’s grain and milling operations, coordinating field installation, electrical design, and process‑controls integration.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, organize, and manage electrical and controls projects across multiple facilities.
- Develop project scopes, cost estimates, and implementation plans.
- Coordinate with internal maintenance/operations teams and external engineers, contractors, system integrators.
- Review and approve panel layouts, MCC designs, and control schematics.
- Oversee procurement and delivery of major components.
- Be present on site during field execution to verify workmanship and resolve real‑time technical issues.
- Manage commissioning activities including device checkout, I/O verification, interlock testing, and system handoff.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA 70, 70B, 70E and corporate safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate project documentation.
- Lead company‑wide efforts to standardize electrical and control‑system practices.
- Provide ongoing technical support and field troubleshooting.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing industrial electrical or controls projects, preferably in grain handling, milling, or process industries.
- Strong knowledge of MCC systems, motor controls, PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or comparable electrical design software.
- Ability to coordinate across internal departments and external vendors while maintaining cost and schedule control.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Formal project‑management training or certifications beneficial.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly (50–70%) to job sites; field‑oriented role.
- Experience with hazard‑monitoring systems and process‑safety instrumentation.
- Knowledge of industrial networking protocols (Ether Net/IP, Modbus, RS‑485).
- Basic networking fundamentals: setting IP addresses, managing small networks, diagnosing connectivity issues.
- Experience specifying and commissioning electrical‑distribution and motor‑control equipment.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70B preventive‑maintenance standards and NFPA 70E arc‑flash and electrical‑safety requirements.
- Ability to read, interpret, and markup electrical and control schematics.
This role involves planning, field work, and project coordination; time in field or office varies per projects.
Physical Requirements- Physically strenuous work.
- Work in tight/ confined spaces.
- Work at heights; ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs and occasionally more.
- Ascend/descend ladders and stairs.
- Wear PPE including respirators in certain areas.
- Exposed to weather, heat/cold, wind, rain, snow, adverse conditions.
- Walk extended periods over uneven surfaces.
- Exposure to site hazards: loud noise, flashing lights, dust/fumes, hazardous materials, heavy equipment/manufacturing.
