This position provides leadership and continuity between all transcription shifts by answering questions, interpreting procedures and by communicating with respective Team Leaders. Assures equipment is in proper working order. Supervises under the Manager – Transcription; employed by Mosaic Health System.

• Prepares training material for trainee. Facilitates on the job training and presents in-services/presentations. Responsible for maintaining and updating reference training material and manuals.
• Provides planning and scheduling of staff including work distribution.
• Monitors accuracy and productivity of staff’s work including transcribing reports.
• Transcribes reports from the dictation system.
• Tests software upgrades and leverages software functionality.

• High School graduate or GED. Graduate of vocational school with medical and pharmaceutical terminology or two years acute med/surg hospital transcription experience.
• 2 years of Acute med/surg hospital transcription experience in lieu of vocational school is required. 80 wpm at 98% accuracy. Word Perfect experience. Excellent spelling and grammar. Must maintain reasonable production standard by end training period. Must maintain monthly production of 140 lines/hr or higher.
