Hospital Transporter – Part-Time – Oakland

Job Summary:

Trinity Health Oakland Hospital is seeking a compassionate and reliable Hospital Transporter to join our Patient Transport Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely and courteously transporting patients to and from various hospital locations, ensuring timely service and maintaining equipment cleanliness and functionality.

• Safely transport patients using wheelchairs, stretchers, and beds, following proper body mechanics and safety procedures.
• Prioritize and manage transport requests efficiently within departmental productivity standards.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, families, and hospital staff.
• Ensure patient identification and destination accuracy before transport.
• Maintain and clean transport equipment; report any defects or unsafe conditions.
• Follow infection control protocols and isolation precautions.
• Assist in emergency situations and attend annual CPR training.
• Complete documentation accurately and timely.

Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Licensure/Certification: Current Heart Saver certification required.

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods (up to 100% of shift).
• Capable of pushing/pulling up to 200 pounds and performing physical tasks such as bending and lifting.
• Team-oriented with a commitment to patient safety and comfort.

Previous patient transport experience preferred.
