Chamberlain Advisors is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support long‑term care therapy services at Diversicare of St Joseph. This role supports occupational therapy treatment plans by assisting with therapeutic interventions, monitoring patient progress, and promoting independence and recovery. The COTA will collaborate with therapists, patients, families, and caregivers to deliver safe, effective, and patient‑centered care while maintaining accurate documentation.
Accountabilities- Assist occupational therapists in delivering prescribed therapy treatments to long‑term care residents
- Support patients in improving functional abilities, self‑care skills, and independence
- Monitor patient response to therapy and report progress or concerns to the supervising therapist
- Encourage participation and engagement in therapeutic activities that promote recovery
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy goals, exercises, and functional strategies
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy activities and patient progress
- Ensure therapy spaces and equipment are clean, safe, and properly maintained
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to support individualized care plans
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license (Required)
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS – AHA) Certification (Required)
- State of Missouri Occupational Therapy licensure or compact eligibility (Required)
- 2 years of occupational therapy experience (Preferred)
- Long‑term care or rehabilitation experience (Preferred)
