FSQA Technician AM Shift – Daily's Premium Meats
Summary: The plant QA Tech is responsible for inspection and testing of manufacturing processes and products to ensure product quality. The QA Tech works with various inspection and test equipment, processes, and products, ensuring proper procedures are followed and documented to maintain quality and traceability. The QA Tech also assists in ensuring nonconforming product is identified and removed from production flow until disposition.
Responsibilities- Perform Pre-Operational Sanitation inspection each morning, verifying cleaning and sanitation and documenting inspection results, deficiencies, and corrective actions.
- Collect ATP and TPC swabs of the food processing environment during Pre-Operational Sanitation inspection to verify cleaning and sanitation, documenting deficiencies and corrective actions.
- Inspect and audit incoming raw materials and ingredients to ensure compliance with internal food safety and quality standards.
- Perform Operational Sanitation inspections as mandated by the SSOP program, including employee hygiene, product handling, waste removal, and condensation; document inspection results, deficiencies, and corrective actions.
- Perform online checks of critical process and quality control points to ensure the process is in control; report results of testing to supervisors, quality management, and operations.
- Understand roles and responsibilities within monitoring of SQF, HACCP, and other prerequisite programs.
- Become proficient in use of lab equipment including O₂ analyzers, colorimeter, and thermometers.
- Perform CCP monitoring and verification activities as mandated in the company’s HACCP plan.
- Perform equipment calibration checks according to established SOPs, including thermometers, scales, and smokehouses.
- Perform net weight and declared count checks to ensure compliance with established net contents labeling.
- Perform related duties as required and instructed by management.
- Education and/or
Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, two or more years related experience. Prior experience in manufacturing preferred. - Communication
Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents in English such as software documentation, operating and maintenance manuals, technical procedures, and regulations; strong written and oral communication skills; ability to prepare reports and business correspondence. - Reasoning Ability and Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to interpret instructions, define and solve practical problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and apply mathematical formulas. - Physical Demands: Ability to move about the facility, regularly lift or move 25 lbs, occasionally lift or move more than 50 lbs; standing, walking, bending, climbing expected; specific vision abilities required.
