Mosaic Life Care is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our expert Bariatric team at our St. Joseph facility. Candidates would need to be either a Physician Assistant (PA) or a Nurse Practitioner (NP). In this vital role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care by conducting thorough assessments, developing individualized treatment and follow-up plans, and collaborating closely with surgeons, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals.
Your work will support patients throughout their weight loss journey, ensuring they receive comprehensive, compassionate care every step of the way.

- 50% Outpatient/50% Inpatient
- APPs in this role act as surgical first assistants in the operating room during bariatric procedures.
- Become an integral part of Mosaic's Bariatrics department; onsite training will equip you with the advanced skills to confidently serve as a surgical first assist.
- Established patient practice
- Rotating call schedule shared with Bariatric surgeon including weekdays and weekends
- Successful completion of an APRN master’s nursing degree
- Current Missouri license preferred or the ability to obtain licensure
- Current DEA licensure
- Possess ability to work independently/autonomously and interdependently with other health care professionals
- Have extensive patient assessment skills using diagnostic methods and instruments with the ability to develop appropriate plan of care, modifying as indicated
- Possess effective communication skills and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and members of the health care team
- Successful completion of a CNS or APRN master’s degree in a nursing program in the specialty area or must demonstrate successful completion of a formal post-graduate track or accredited program (within the specialty area) within a school of nursing granted graduate-level academic credit (e.g. graduate, non-matriculating program)
- Licensed in state of Missouri or Kansas, depending upon designated work location. Must be currently certified by a nationally recognized certifying body acceptable to the Missouri or Kansas State Board of Nursing as well as hold and maintain a current Document of Recognition
