American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Stepdown/Med-Surg position requiring stepdown skillsets and a MO or compact RN license.

• Med-Surg unit with Stepdown experience and skillsets required
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours )
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote)
• Care for CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, and spinal cord injury patients
• Ortho trauma and total joint replacement patient care
• Wound care/wound vac and feeding tube management
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line blood draws, and PICC line management
• Administration of blood products, heparin, insulin (including IV insulin protocols), and PCA
• Respiratory care including nasal cannula, oral suctioning, and oxygen administration
• Uses EPIC charting system

• Active RN license (MO State or Compact) required, must be in hand prior to start
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• CPI and NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• BSN preferred
• EPIC charting experience preferred

• Work in a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center at a 352-bed tertiary hospital
• Serves as the only tertiary hospital between Kansas City and Omaha
• Free parking available on-site
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Previous employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Pending RN licenses will be considered, but must be active and in hand prior to start date
