Technical Sales Engineer
Our client located in St. Joseph, MO, is looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to add to their team. This person will work directly with end-users and company representatives to review applications for bulk material conveyance and produce equipment designs and pricing to meet the customer’s specific requirements. They will use sales skills to promote the company’s core products and services to existing customers and potential new customers to grow sales year after year, as well as develop and follow a sales plan to target new and existing engineering firms, large end users, and key accounts that increase awareness of the company’s products.
Responsibilities- Customer Engagement & Technical Consulting: Build strong relationships with clients and provide technical expertise to understand their unique needs and challenges with mechanical systems. Provide onsite application recommendations and when requested provide equipment start up support.
- Solution Development: Develop and propose customized mechanical solutions by leveraging your engineering knowledge to align products with client specifications, performance expectations, and budgets.
- Proposal & Quote Creation: Prepare accurate and detailed technical proposals and quotes that clearly explain the benefits of the proposed solutions. Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for new products and market growth. Actively pursue new business opportunities and work towards meeting or exceeding sales targets to drive revenue growth.
- Travel: Plans monthly travel to work with company representatives, call on end-users to prospect new business and work with Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) firms on specific project opportunities. Work with internal teams, including production, and other sales personnel, to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Document and produces weekly reports: Status of all quotations generated by the company. Contacts buyers, engineers, and company representatives to determine quotation status of pricing, timing of project, and to promote advantages over competitors.
- Other duties: Willing to perform other duties as required to support company functions.

- BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience in mechanical equipment sales
