Territory Manager - St. Joseph, MO
Join our team at US Foods. We are looking for a dynamic Territory Manager to build relationships, drive sales, and make a meaningful impact in the food service industry.
What You’ll Do- Be the Customer Champion:
Own and nurture the customer relationship in a team‑based selling model, educating customers on ordering platforms and providing menu consultations, product recommendations, and pricing strategies to help customers succeed. - Drive Sales Success:
Measure success by selling to customers, increasing case growth, and acquiring new business through impactful sales presentations and a tailored sales approach. - Team Based Selling:
Work collaboratively with Specialists to assist with top penetration opportunities and new account openings, and coordinate with marketing, supply chain, and customer service for seamless product delivery. - Lead with Insight:
Develop new business by identifying prospective customers using market intelligence databases, business directories, and leads from existing clients; participate in industry organizations and attend trade shows and conferences. - Delivery Resolution:
Manage deliveries per the routing schedule, troubleshooting issues such as mis‑picks, short loads, or stock‑outs. - Competitive Advantage:
Stay informed about market conditions, product innovations, and competitors, sharing relevant information with customers as part of value‑added services. - Stay on the Move:
Conduct regular check‑ins, site visits, and follow‑ups in your vehicle to ensure customer satisfaction.

Work EnvironmentDaily work outside the office, traveling within your assigned territory and visiting customers in variable weather and temperature conditions.
Minimum Qualifications- 1+ year of sales experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record.
- Experience in food service, culinary, restaurant management, or hospitality preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation abilities.
- Ability to build internal and external relationships and cold‑call to develop new business.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- A competitive spirit with a drive to exceed goals.
- Problem‑solving, organization, and negotiation skills.
- Team‑up mentality to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Tech‑savvy – proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools like Salesforce is a plus.
- Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 75 lbs.
