Work in a brand-new dealership and join the growing service department team at St Joseph Peterbilt. St Joseph Peterbilt is in the dealer group network of Geis Dealer Group.
We are looking for experienced to entry‑level diesel mechanics / technicians. Our new, state‑of‑the‑art dealership is now open and we’re seeking motivated individuals who are ready to work.
Base pay range$20.00/hr – $35.00/hr
Job DescriptionSt Joseph Peterbilt is seeking diesel mechanics/technicians with 1–3 years of experience (preferred) or entry‑level candidates who are self‑motivated, dependable, and capable of working well with coworkers. We provide on‑site, hands‑on training and certifications from factory OEM suppliers, with no training cost to the employee. At no additional cost, employees may travel to our training facility in Kansas City, KS.
Diesel mechanics/technicians will perform all aspects of heavy‑ and medium‑duty diesel engine and chassis repair. Our service department covers preventative maintenance, component replacement, and full vehicle rebuilds across Paccar MX, Cummins, Caterpillar, Allison, Eaton, Dana and Meritor platforms. Work will involve the most up‑to‑date computer software, technology and tooling provided by the manufacturers.

- Perform preventative maintenance services (PM) and replacement/repair of major and minor components.
- Complete full vehicle rebuilds and ensure vehicles are safe to return to the road.
- Use updated computer software, technology and tooling to diagnose and repair diesel engines and chassis.
- Adhere to safety protocols and promote a positive, team‑oriented, customer‑focused attitude.
- Heavy lifting required
- CDL preferred
- 1–3 years of diesel mechanic experience (preferred)
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrated resourcefulness and versatility in a fast‑paced, constantly changing environment
- Ability to follow directions and advisement from leadership
- Commitment to safety in the work environment
