Warehouse Worker and Baler
Job Objective:
This position is responsible for operation of the donation center.
- Perform and supervise the sorting of donations.
- Wash and clean incoming donations for sale floor.
- Bale clothing using baling equipment.
- Move materials using a forklift as needed.
- Unload materials and load bales onto truck.
- Maintain the cleanliness and order of the warehouse.
- Education:
High School diploma or equivalent. - Experience:
Warehouse and forklift operation. - Certifications/Licenses:
Class E operator's license; forklift certification (obtained within 90 days of employment).
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff members, donors and volunteers.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment including, but not limited to, baler and forklift.
- Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Volunteers as directed by supervisor.
Physical RequirementsIncludes speaking, hearing and vision; excellent manual dexterity; lifting, pulling and pushing materials weighing 50 pounds or more; bending, squatting and walking; standing for extended periods of time. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job.
Travel and DrivingTravel:
Locally. Driving is required; must possess a valid driver's license and be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
Work is performed in a typical warehouse environment.
