RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Float Front Office Associate to join our team. As a Float Front Office Associate, you will be the first point of contact for patients and referring professionals answering phones, cheerfully greeting and registering patients, scheduling patient procedures, and acting a liaison between medical technologists and patients waiting for exams. You will be part of a team providing a wide range of screening, diagnostic and interventional procedures with compassion and integrity.
WorkingHours
Part‑time position working 20‑29 hours/week, Monday‑Friday between 6:30 am‑5:00 pm (typically 5‑hour shifts each day). Will travel to multiple centers such as Edina, Eden Prairie, Shakopee, Plymouth, and other locations.
Responsibilities- Registration (65%):
- Greets and checks‑in patients scheduled for imaging services; registers demographics and processes payment plans and copays.
- Answers phones and handles calls efficiently and friendly.
- Fields calls appropriately for center associates.
- Acts as liaison between technologists and patients waiting for exams, relaying scanner status and other clinic information.
- Follows‑up on unread exams.
- Maintains front office lobby area, straightening magazines, organizing coffee supplies, and assisting with general office clean‑up.
- Orders office supplies as needed and maintains supply of patient information sheets.
- Pushes imaging via electronic interfaces and completes confirmation calls.
- Faxes reports, billing information, and medical release forms as requested.
- Scheduling & Insurance (25%):
- Schedules patients and enters orders.
- Maintains an up‑to‑date database on all current and potential referring physicians.
- Accurately maintains patient records within the radiology information system (RIS).
- Assists with arranging interpreter services, transportation, and hotel accommodations for patients when appropriate.
- Maintains accurate pending‑scheduling list.
- Checks all exams for pre‑certification with patient's insurance company.
- Handles release of information requests for patients, referring offices, other medical facilities, attorneys, and insurance companies following company guidelines.
- Uses knowledge of insurance carriers (e.g., Medicare) and procedures that require waivers to obtain authorization if needed prior to appointment.
- Other Duties (10%) as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Microsoft Office Suite experience.
- 1‑2 years customer service experience.
- Proficiency with using computer systems and typing.
- Valid driver's license and proof of current insurance.
- 1‑2 years medical front office experience.
- Medical terminology knowledge and office background.
- Bilingual.
