Activities Aide - Part Time

A 105 bed skilled nursing facility ina suburban neighborhood that currently undergoing exciting renovation project. Our emphasis is on rehabilitation services and long term skilled geriatric care. You will use different forms of recreation as a therapeutic tool to meet physical, emotional, social, psychological and spiritual needs of residents in accordance with the over-all plan of care. Is a member of the Therapeutic Recreation Department team and fulfils the duties required by that Department. Carries out nursing home policies and government regulations as required. You will follow the direction of the Therapeutic Recreation Director.

Qualified candidates will have:

• Practical knowledge of a variety of client populations

• Education and / or experience in geriatrics and long term care

• Knowledge and / or experience in documentation

• Understand various Theories and Techniques ( Validation Therapy, Sensory, Stimulation, Redirection)

• Must be flexible, creative, enthusiastic, and demonstrate much incentive and motivation.

• Proficient in computer usage.

• Able to complete MDS, Care Plans, Progress notes, and initial activities assessment.

This position will be 20-28 hours, afternoon/evening hours including 1 weekend a month. If interested please apply online or stop in to fill out an application.
