Area Human Resources Business Partner at CSM Corporation

The Minneapolis Marriott West Hotel Complex in St. Louis Park, MN is hiring for a Human Resources Manager
! The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing all human resources functions for the property including talent acquisition and onboarding, employee engagement and relations, training and development, compensation and benefits, HRIS/payroll, and a wide variety of other HR support.

Talent Acquisition: Leads recruitment and hiring efforts for all positions. Collaborates with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and skills/competencies required for positions. Screens candidates and works closely with hiring managers to schedule and conduct interviews. Creates job offers and administers background check process. Coordinates onboarding and completes new hire paperwork with all new hires. Works with department leaders to coordinate department specific onboarding and orientation.

Partners with Area HR Business Partner and corporate Talent Acquisition team for certain positions.

Employee Engagement: Develops relationships with property leaders to promote positive employee relations as well as a collaborative and professional work environment. Responsible for employee recognition and engagement programs/events and monthly Employee Engagement Committee meetings. Identifies opportunities for improving employee communications and recognition.

Employee Relations: Provides leadership support in maintaining a direct relationship with employees. Resolves employee relations issues by coaching and consulting with employees and leaders. Provides guidance to leaders to resolve sensitive employee situations, including performance management and disciplinary actions. Manages employee relations cases from intake through research, investigation, tracking, documentation, and resolution. Identifies trends and issues within departments and develops recommendations for proactive solutions.

Escalates situations to the Area HR Business Partner as necessary.

Training and Development: Maintains training records and ensures employees complete all required brand, compliance, and other trainings. Assists hotel management in scheduling and conducting service and brand trainings. Provides developmental guidance and coaching to managers and employees. Partners with corporate Development and Engagement team on projects and initiatives.

Compensation and Benefits: Tracks and ensures timely processing of employee wage changes, including those associated with annual reviews. Monitors and reviews wages to ensure accurate and equitable pay. Works with Area HR Business Partner as needed for pay scale research to ensure competitive wages. Maintains knowledge of company benefits offerings, answers employee and manager benefits questions, tracks and assists employees with benefits enrollment, and partners with the corporate Benefits team on administration of benefits programs.

Partners with corporate Benefits team and vendor partners to administer various leave of absence programs.

HRIS/Payroll: Ensures accurate maintenance and timely processing of HRIS records. Reviews and provides final approval of employee timecards for bi-weekly payroll. Assists department managers in effectively managing timekeeping records and labor costs through efficient use of HRIS systems. Reviews timecards and schedules for accuracy and compliance.

Safety: Works closely with department leaders to ensure a clean and safe work environment for employees. Maintains compliance in all aspects of workers’ compensation and safety programs. Leads monthly Safety Committee meetings and ensures follow through on necessary items. Maintains communication with any injured employees and follows CSM’s return to work program.
