Registered Nurse, OR Circulator (Surgery) - Methodist Hospital — Park Nicollet Health Services

Methodist Hospital is looking to hire an Operating Room (OR) Circulator RN to join our Surgical team. Join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.

• The RN – OR Circulator position manages the episode of patient care in partnership with patients, caregivers, groups and other providers to deliver safe, quality health care.
• Provide direct patient care as the primary nurse or coordinate/supervise care delegated to Nursing Assistants and other unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth perioperative care across cases and shifts.

• 0.8 FTE / 8 hour, Day/Evening
• Rotate weekends per departmental need, including up to every other weekend
• Call may be required on off shifts and weekends per departmental need
• Participate in Holiday Rotation

• Graduate of a school of nursing; minimum of Associate degree/Diploma in Nursing required
• New grads not considered
• Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients
• Valid Minnesota Registered Nurse License
• BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines

• Preference for an experienced OR RN Circulator
• Candidate must meet at least one of the following requirements to be considered:
• Minimum of 2 years Operating Room experience as a Registered Nurse Circulator
• Minimum of 1.5 years OR RN Circulator experience with at least 1 year of independent Circulator work and successful completion of Periop 101 within the last 2 years (Tuition reimbursement available)
• Minimum of 1-year OR experience as RN Circulator with at least 6 months independent work and prior Surgical Technologist experience
• If new to the OR RN, pre-approval by OR Manager and enrollment in Periop 101 Program; high performance in current role required

Orientation program is 6 months in length; candidate must be able to work M-F full time on days ) during orientation, then rotate through all shifts and weekends prior to completing orientation.
