Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Advanced Care

Position Summary

Registered Nurse (RN) manages the episode of patient care in partnership with persons, caregivers, groups, and other providers to reach a shared goal of delivering safe, quality health care. This patient care may be through direct care by the RN, or it may be through coordinating and supervising patient care delegated to nursing assistants and other unlicensed assistive personnel.

The Advanced Care Unit is a 20‑bed unit that serves acute and/or chronically ill patients requiring close observation, management, and monitoring. We care for patients having acute MI’s, unstable arrhythmias, or require temporary pacemakers. Patients having respiratory distress requiring BiPAP or high‑flow. Medical patients such as GIB, DKA, or pulmonary hypertension. We also care for vascular surgical patients such as CEA’s, LE bypass, endovascular AAA.

Nurse‑patient ratios 3:1 or 2:1. Individualized orientation for each new hire, ECCO, and ACLS certification.

0.9 FTE, Rotating Day/Night 12‑hour shift WSP position – Every Weekend/Weekend Only (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

Completion of an associate, bachelor, or master’s degree program in Nursing. BSN preferred and generally expected that BSN is obtained within 2 years of hire.

• Valid Minnesota Registered Nurse License
• BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association guidelines

• Demonstrates knowledge of age‑related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients
• Recommended 1+ year experience of medical‑surgical/telemetry but will consider new grad, BSN, or currently enrolled in BSN program encouraged
• Excellent critical thinking, multi‑tasking, and prioritizing skills
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
