Methodist Hospital is looking to hire an Operating Room (OR) Circulator RN to join our Surgical team. As a Partner for Good, you’ll help impact the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.
Position SummaryThe RN – OR Circulator manages the episode of patient care in partnership with patients, caregivers, groups and other providers to reach a shared goal of delivering safe, quality health care. This may involve direct care by the RN or coordinating and supervising delegated patient care to nursing assistants and other unlicensed assistive personnel.
Work Schedule- 0.9 FTE, 8‑hour day/evening shift.
- May rotate weekends per departmental need, up to every other weekend.
- Call may be required on off shifts and weekends per departmental need.
- Participate in holiday rotation.
- Graduate of a school of nursing; minimum of associate degree/diploma in nursing required.
- New graduates not considered.
- Demonstrates knowledge of age‑related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
- Valid Minnesota Registered Nurse License.
- BLS provider status per American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines.
Preference for an experienced OR RN Circulator. Candidates must meet at least one of the following:
- Minimum 2 years operating room experience as a Registered Nurse Circulator.
- Minimum 1.5 years operating room experience as a Registered Nurse Circulator with at least 1 year independent of orientation, and proof of successful completion of Periop 101 Course within last 2 years (
* Ask us about Periop 101 Tuition Reimbursement*). - Minimum 1 year operating room experience as a Registered Nurse Circulator with at least 6 months independent of orientation, and previously worked as a Surgical Technologist before completion of nursing school.
- New to the OR RN: pre‑approval must be given by OR Manager, must be enrolled in or plan to enroll in next cohort of Periop 101 Program at Anoka Technical College; must show they are high performers in current role.
Orientation program: 6 months, full‑time Monday–Friday 0700–1530 until end of orientation, after which the candidate must rotate through all shifts and weekends regardless of work agreement or FTE prior to completing orientation.
