Position SummaryNovogradac & Company LLP is searching for a Senior Accountant to join our fast‑growing firm. The Senior Accountant will manage a variety of tax, audit, and other assignments as directed by the Manager. At this level, the Senior Accountant should function with minimal supervision, focus on supervising and mentoring Staff, solve problems independently, strengthen client relationships, and increase team profitability. Some positions may be open to remote or hybrid work arrangements depending on business needs;

- Complete tax and/or audit projects for designated clients with minimal oversight.
- Conduct thorough engagement reviews and accept increasing responsibility for engagement management.
- Identify potential problem areas during engagements and propose effective solutions.
- Perform business‑specific research—gather and analyze data, interpret results, compile reports, and make recommendations.
- Develop, strengthen, and maintain effective client relationships through professionalism, responsiveness, and a service‑oriented approach.
- Enhance your industry knowledge by completing relevant training courses.
- Increase the team’s profitability by managing your own time and that of Staff efficiently, contributing ideas and adding value.
- Supervise and mentor Staff Accountants.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
- If not already obtained, work toward obtaining a CPA license.
- Strong understanding of accounting and tax rules.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Intellectual curiosity and a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently with strong organizational skills.
- Effectively prioritize a fast‑paced, varied workload and manage concurrent priorities.
- Open to constructive feedback and able to adjust as directed.
- Team‑oriented ability to foster a productive, collaborative environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and report‑writing tools.
- Professional demeanor with coworkers and clients.
- Commitment to meet internal firm deadlines (time entry, billing, etc.).
- Available to work evenings, weekends, and travel domestically as required.
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting or finance (advanced degree is a plus), and 3‑5 years of experience in public accounting and/or a balanced mix of education and work experience. Ability to sit for the CPA exam or succeed the CPA exam is required; a CPA license is a plus.
Experience in the following areas is helpful but not mandatory:
Affordable Housing, Low‑Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), Opportunity Zones (OZ), Renewable Energy Tax Credits (RETC), Historical Tax Credits (HTC), HUD, NMTC, real estate, developers, partnerships, housing authority, public housing authority, CDFI, single audit, Uniform Guidance, A‑133, forecasting, cost segregation, year‑15 exit, tax‑exempt bond, and HOME programs.
