Child Care Aware® of Missouri (CCAMO) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Part‑Time Senior Accountant to join our dynamic nonprofit accounting team. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about supporting nonprofits in achieving financial excellence. The ideal candidate will be detail‑oriented, organized, and adaptable to change, with a strong commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement.

This position is responsible for managing month‑end accounting close processes, coordinating daily activities with the accounting team, supporting business operations, and overseeing HR and payroll functions for a statewide 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are seeking a collaborative team player who is detail‑oriented, organized, and committed to maintaining financial records in full compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and funder requirements. This role reports directly to the Chief Business Officer (CBO).

• Create and modify financial reports monthly or as requested
• Review and analyze general ledger
• Perform bank reconciliations
• Complete account reconciliations
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries
• Create comparative reports as requested
• Manage payroll through online platform
• Assist with HR activities including benefit evaluation and new hire processing
• Create, manage and/or maintain up to date fiscal policy and process manuals
• Review FTE allocations with CBO
• Support financial audit and audit prep as requested
• Engage in organization’s fundraising and friend‑raising activities
• Promote the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Child Care Aware® of Missouri
• Perform other duties as assigned

• BA/BS in accounting or a closely related field with at least five years experience in accounting
• Not for profit accounting experience preferred
• Knowledge of Sage 100 preferred
• Knowledge of Uniform Guidance preferred
• Non‑profit government contract funding experience preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities and ability to meet deadlines
