Position SummaryManage financial statements, accounting functions, and administrative activities to support business decisions. Provide accurate financial and operational information to support business decisions. Support job cost and financial accounting for manufacturing facilities in Hollister, CA and Red Bud, IL. This role is based at the Corporate Office in St. Louis, MO, and requires weekly travel to the Red Bud facility.
Responsibilities- Review bank reconciliations
- Manage cash accounts and employee cash advances
- Complete month-end intercompany reconciliations and journal entries
- Manage fixed assets and depreciation
- Oversee inventory accounting for the manufacturing facility
- File Use Tax, Sales Tax, and Personal Property Tax returns across multiple states
- Collect and provide information for annual insurance renewals and audits
- Calculate labor cost rates and intercompany charge rates
- Coordinate monthly job cost projection meetings, including notes and follow-up
- Review job cost reports and support monthly financial statement preparation
- Prepare monthly financial statements, trial balance notes, graphs, and sales forecasts
- Manage payroll and AP deadlines
- Review payroll funding reports and AP open payables
- Support Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and general accounting inquiries
- Evaluate and improve internal accounting processes
- Prepare and oversee annual budgets
- Collect and provide information for consolidated financial reviews, tax prep, and audits
- Manage preparation of payroll tax returns, W2s, and 1099s
- Provide information for government surveys
- Maintain knowledge of accounting processes from purchasing through financial results
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned
- Become proficient with the job cost accounting system
- Document procedures, issues, and solutions
- Train co-workers on improved procedures
- Promote a positive work environment
- Build and maintain relationships across all locations
- Follow safety guidelines and company policies
- Communicate professionally with employees, clients, and vendors
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 5 years of hands‑on accounting experience strongly preferred
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Strong problem‑solving and communication skills
- High attention to detail with strong organization and time management
- Ability to multi‑task and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong math skills and confidence working with numbers
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows‑based programs
- Experience with Viewpoint Construction Software is a plus
- Ability to work effectively with coworkers, clients, vendors, and other contacts
- Must align with company values and maintain strong working relationships
