The Seasonal Tax Accountant will support the tax team during peak season by preparing and reviewing a wide range of tax returns.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing individual, corporate, partnership, and/or fiduciary tax returns based on experience.
- Reviewing financial information, supporting documentation, and prior‑year returns to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Assisting with tax planning calculations, adjustments, and year‑end tasks as needed.
- Researching tax issues and applying current tax laws to client situations.
- Communicating with clients to gather necessary information and resolve questions or discrepancies.
- Ensuring deadlines are met by managing multiple return workloads efficiently.
- Assisting with electronic filing, document tracking, and maintaining organized work papers.
- Supporting other tax team members and contributing to a smooth and efficient tax season workflow.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA‑eligible preferred but not required.
- Previous experience preparing tax returns in a public accounting or high‑volume tax environment.
- Working knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.
- Proficiency with tax preparation software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong communication and client‑service skills.
- Ability to work extended hours during peak tax season, as needed.
