Job DescriptionThe Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for supporting the day‑to‑day processing of vendor invoices and payments while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with established procedures. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the overall accounting function.
Responsibilities- Reviewing, coding, and entering vendor invoices into the accounting system
- Verifying invoices for accuracy, proper approvals, and supporting documentation
- Processing payments via check, ACH, wire, or other approved methods
- Reconciling vendor statements and resolving invoice discrepancies
- Maintaining organized and accurate accounts payable records and files
- Assisting with month‑end close activities related to accounts payable
- Responding to internal and external inquiries regarding invoice and payment status
- Supporting audits by providing requested documentation and reports
- Assisting with other accounting and administrative tasks as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field preferred
- 1–3 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience preferred
- Familiarity with accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and accounts payable processes
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and prioritize workload
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
