As an Accounting Specialist at United Bags, you'll play a key part in maintaining the financial accuracy that keeps our national operations running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys ownership of their work, loves improving processes, and thrives in a friendly, team‑oriented environment.
What You’ll Do- Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable with accuracy and timeliness
- Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations
- Prepare journal entries, reports, and schedules for month‑end and year‑end close
- Maintain well‑organized, audit‑ready financial documentation
- Review and process employee expense reports
- Work cross‑functionally with sales, operations, and logistics to resolve issues and improve workflows
- Support internal and external audits with timely, accurate data
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and strengthen internal controls
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (manufacturing/distribution a plus)
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP
- Experience with Quick Books, Net Suite, or similar accounting systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and a team‑first attitude
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems
- Familiarity with inventory or cost accounting
