Controller, Accounting, Financial Compliance

Kforce's client, a growing and successful organization located in the Saint Louis, MO area is seeking an experienced Controller to lead its accounting and finance operations. This full-time, hands-on leadership role will oversee the accounting team, manage the full month-end close process, ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain compliance with regulatory and lending requirements, and partner with leadership to support business growth.

• Lead and develop the accounting team while overseeing day-to-day accounting operations
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
• Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements and management reports
• Coordinate annual audits and support all tax preparation and compliance activities
• Monitor debt covenant reporting and maintain regulatory compliance
• Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures
• Oversee credit policies, accounts receivable performance, and risk management initiatives
• Partner with operational leaders to improve processes, efficiency, and financial performance
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, and special projects
• Coach and mentor team members while fostering a high-performance culture

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
• CPA designation preferred
• 5+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience
• Experience managing audits, compliance requirements, and financial risk
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Advanced Excel and financial systems proficiency
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
