Accounts Payable Specialist

Robert Half Finance & Accounting has partnered with an organization in the St. Louis Metro area seeking a full-time Accounts Payable Specialist. The Accounts Payable Specialist must possess strong communication and organizational skills with a high attention to detail to work in a deadline-driven environment.

Accounts Payable Specialist Responsibilities:

· Review, verify, and process vendor invoices for payment

· Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents

· Prepare and process checks, ACH payments, and wire transfers

· Maintain vendor files and ensure accurate payment records

· Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment discrepancies

· Reconcile vendor statements and accounts

· Monitor payment schedules to ensure timely payments and avoid late fees

· Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable

· Timely and accurate processing of accounts payable as a shared responsibility

Accounts Payable Specialist Minimum Qualifications:

· Associate's degree in accounting or related field preferred

· 5+ years of Accounts Payable or general accounting experience preferred

· Strong understanding of Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and accounting principles

· Experience with accounting software;
Microsoft GP preferred

· Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills

· Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
