Accounting Clerk

We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to support day-to-day financial operations for a transport organization in Saint Louis, Missouri. This long-term contract position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable handling a high volume of transactions, and confident working across both payables and receivables activities. The role requires strong accuracy, dependable follow-through, and the ability to manage accounting records efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Process incoming vendor invoices, review details for accuracy, and prepare payments in accordance with established timelines.
• Maintain customer billing and cash application activities by recording incoming payments and following up on outstanding balances when needed.
• Enter financial data into accounting systems with a high degree of precision to support accurate recordkeeping and reporting.
• Use Quick Books to update account information, track transactions, and assist with routine account reconciliation tasks.
• Verify supporting documentation, resolve discrepancies, and communicate with internal contacts or external partners to clarify payment or billing issues.
• Organize and maintain accounting files, transaction records, and related documentation to support audit readiness and operational efficiency.
• Assist with invoice processing workflows and help ensure transactions are completed in alignment with company procedures.
• Provide general accounting support for daily clerical and administrative finance activities as assigned.
