Thebasics of this position
The Secretary provides efficient secretarial support, reception, and communication services to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
What you’ll do- Types and edits departmental materials
- Prepares necessary pay documents and forms
- Maintains appointment and meeting calendars
- Answers telephone calls, screens and refers calls, and takes messages; provides information as appropriate
- Composes and types correspondence with or without notes
- Assembles various records to prepare periodic reports
- Completes necessary forms to order and pay for items; maintains inventory of forms and supplies
- Maintains a filing system, including confidential files
- Additional duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent with 0–1 years of related experience
- Must pass a skills assessment at the basic level of proficiency in Microsoft Office
