Lintel + Cornice Development + Construction | St. Louis, MO
Position OverviewLintel + Cornice is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations across multiple residential renovation and historic rehabilitation projects in St. Louis.
The Superintendent will be responsible for coordinating daily construction activities, managing subcontractors and field crews, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of craftsmanship. The Superintendent will oversee 4 to 6 active job sites, as well as oversee smaller client projects.
Working closely with company leadership and project managers, the Superintendent will serve as the primary on‑site point of contact and take ownership of day‑to‑day construction operations. While this is primarily a supervisory position, the ideal candidate has substantial hands‑on construction experience and is comfortable assisting with field work when circumstances require it.
Who We're Looking ForWe're looking for an experienced builder who knows how to lead people and keep projects moving.
The ideal candidate is hands‑on and collaborative, understands construction from the ground up, knows the trades, recognizes quality workmanship, and understands how to sequence work to complete a project successfully.
They can anticipate challenges, make sound decisions in the field, and coordinate multiple crews without losing sight of the details. They lead by example, communicate clearly, and hold people accountable while treating them with respect. They're comfortable directing subcontractors and employees, but equally willing to lend a hand when needed to solve a problem or keep a project on schedule.
Our projects often involve older buildings, unexpected conditions, and complex rehabilitation work. We aren't building tract homes, and no two projects are exactly alike. We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, adapts to changing circumstances, and takes pride in delivering quality work.
Most importantly, we want someone who takes ownership of their job sites, works collaboratively with the rest of our team, and understands that good construction management requires both planning and practical field experience.
