Full-timeA Day in the Role Your morning might start at a residential job site with a laser distance meter in hand, confirming dimensions for a custom staircase. Back at the office, you’ll translate those measurements and blueprint details into precise quantities—treads, risers, stringers, balusters, handrails, and newel posts—building a complete estimate for materials and installation. You’ll collaborate with internal teammates to align scope and ensure every estimate reflects the actual site conditions and project specs.

What You’ll DoAnalyze construction drawings and specifications to understand scope and details.

Complete meticulous material takeoffs for stair components and railing systems.

Visit active and residential job sites to verify measurements and existing conditions.

Assemble accurate estimates for staircase and railing installations and remodels.

Identify materials and components for both new builds and renovation projects.

Validate that estimates align with measured dimensions, specs, and defined scope.

Communicate key measurement findings and project details with the project team.

Required Background Professional experience in construction estimating.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction blueprints.

Proven capability to produce accurate quantity takeoffs.

Working knowledge of construction methods, materials, measurements, and terminology.

Comfort traveling to job sites to capture and confirm field measurements.

Strong math aptitude, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Preferred Experience Estimating for staircases, railings, or closely related scopes.

Familiarity with stair components: treads, risers, stringers, balusters, handrails, newel posts.

Background in residential construction, finish carpentry, architectural millwork, or remodeling.

Experience supporting custom home builders, contractors, or residential renovation teams.

Who Thrives Here Experienced estimators who understand how projects come together, can translate drawings into exact quantities, and are equally comfortable with plans and on-site measurements. Direct stair industry experience is a plus, but your estimating acumen, blueprint fluency, and construction know-how are paramount.
