Shive-Hattery’s Industrial Architectural Studio has an exciting opportunity for a Licensed Architect with 10+ years of experience in the business development, design, and leadership of architectural projects. This position is expected to sit in our St. Louis office and offers career-growth opportunities for a talented individual prepared to take on next-level leadership challenges, contribute on an elevated level within a collaborative team culture, and expand their expertise.
As an architect on the Industrial team, you will collaborate with multi-discipline teams across the Shive-Hattery ecosystem on local, regional, and national projects. You will also be involved in growing client work in the St. Louis area and with clients who have headquarters in St. Louis.

We are a full-service design firm offering interior design, architecture, engineering, and landscape architecture. In this role, you will lead architectural design and project management efforts for projects serving primarily industrial clients, with opportunities to support work in other sectors that Shive-Hattery provides services within. Candidates should demonstrate skills in the following areas:
- Lead architectural design and project management with design discussions, idea generation, collaboration, and design work in drawing, modeling, and 3D image formats.
- Direct non-licensed and other professionals assigned to design, produce, and coordinate the design process and technical documents.
- Attend project and client meetings with design professionals for both business development opportunities and projects under contract.
- Develop technical design solutions.
- Assist with design presentation development.
Process Architecture Knowledge
- Knowledge of industrial process documentation and familiarity with developing architectural designs that provide spaces which function effectively and efficiently, including but not limited to:
- cGMP process architecture
- Front end facility programming
- Bioprocess equipment arrangement
- HVAC engineering for process environments
- Process & process utility design
- Extending the life of existing manufacturing facilities
- Designing for international and FDA regulatory requirements
Applicants should have experience, including:
- Completion of an accredited professional degree program with a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in architecture or equivalent education and experience. Licensed architect is a requirement.
