Position SummaryPerform the duties required to direct the clinical evaluation and management of the physical, mental, and social aspects of patient care; provide leadership to the health care team.
EducationGraduate of an accredited school of medicine.
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS- Licensed as a Physician in the State of Missouri.
- Board certified or Board eligible in Family Medicine.
- Complete Family Medicine residency.
- Experience in an urban health setting preferred.
- Requires strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability, skills, and knowledge to recognize, and treat patients.
- Leadership ability to coordinate a specific project or service.
Must possess a valid driver's license and automobile with insurance coverage as required by the State of Missouri.
License(s)/Certification(s) RequiredMaintain Medical license necessary for practice including Missouri State physician, Missouri BNDD, and Federal DEA and Board Eligibility certificate. Prefer x-waiver.
Essential Functions- Conducts Family Practice clinic sessions i.e. Adult Medicine, Pediatric, and OBGYN as agreed upon.
- Examines patients and diagnoses problems. Treats patient illness within the limitations of the outpatient primary care setting. Refers patients as required to other backup health centers or hospitals for future testing and/or treatment. Provides telephone consultation to health center patients and shares on-call coverage.
- Patient care is evidence based and takes a trauma-informed care approach to the whole patient.
- Prescribes medicine as appropriate; considers X waiver to DEA license.
- Consults with specialized consultant physicians and collaborates with appropriate mid-level clinicians regarding patients as needed and assigned.
- Cooperates in preparing claims for third party insurance billing.
- Provides medical supervision to medical staff/residents and students as needed.
- Contributes ideas for improvement of health center operations.
- Works with health care team to ensure high quality health care to all patients.
- Participates in record review and quality assurance program.
- Participates in staff meetings, department meetings, and staff committees as assigned.
- Adheres to clinical best practices of health center.
- Participates in community health education and prevention efforts.
- Maintains productivity and quality standards established by federal guidelines and Center's Quality Assessment Committee.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Attends CME sessions as required.
