The Lutheran High School Association of St. Louis is seeking to hire an Assistant Cheer Coach at the Lutheran North Middle and High School campus for the 2025–2026 school year. - Support the Head Cheer Coach in teaching and coaching cheerleading skills, including stunts, tumbling, jumps, and dance with an emphasis on safety, technique, and performance quality.
- Assist with planning and executing practices, game-day performances, pep rallies, and team events; may support team travel and recruitment.
- Help develop team strategies, foster teamwork, and build positive relationships with students, families, and the school community.
- Ensure athlete safety during all activities; enforce school and MSHSAA policies, and ensure compliance with governing regulations.
- Support the head coach with administrative tasks such as equipment distribution, recordkeeping, attendance tracking, and managing participant eligibility.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with athletes, parents, other coaches, and administrators.
- Model and promote sportsmanship, leadership, and positive team culture.
- Attend required training, coaches’ meetings, and professional development as required by the school or governing body.
- High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework or degree preferred).
- Current CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain prior to season start).
- Previous cheer coaching or competitive cheer experience preferred (school, collegiate, or all-star).
- Ability to work effectively with students and adults in a diverse, urban school environment. Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills; approachable and team-oriented.
- Commitment to student-athlete development, safety, and upholding the school’s mission and values.
- Knowledge of MSHSAA rules and USA Cheer safety guidelines.
Providing excellent co-ed, Christian education for grades 6-12 in Saint Louis, Missouri.
