About the Position: Saint Louis Community College (STLCC) is a non‑profit institution dedicated to empowering students. This role is for a full‑time faculty member in the Child and Family Development program (early childhood education) who will provide formal course contact teaching for at least five courses per semester. Faculty are expected to remain current in their field through professional development and update course materials as needed.
WhatYou'll Do
- Provide formal course contact teaching credit hours each Fall and Spring semester (at least 5 courses).
- Teach in a variety of modalities: on‑campus face‑to‑face, live virtual lecture, online, hybrid, and Hyflex.
- Engage students in interactive learning environments, develop course content, and utilize learning technologies effectively.
- Prepare and plan instruction in accordance with course objectives.
- Assess and correct examinations and student work; provide assessment and feedback.
- Schedule student conferences to review individual progress and assist in academic advisement.
- Participate in departmental selection of course texts, instructional equipment, supplies, and non‑print resources.
- Participate in departmental development, evaluation, and revision of course objectives, instructional strategies, and assessment systems.
- Attend faculty and institutional meetings; participate in departmental, divisional, campus, and college‑wide service.
- Assist part‑time faculty.
- Assist with student recruitment, job, internship, or workplace learning placement.
- Support Curriculum and Assessment and Registrar Departments with articulation and transfer review, course equivalency review, or other course‑specific information.
- Sponsor student activities, groups, or clubs.
- Attend institutional ceremonies or events.
- Participate in community activities and professional development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Child and Family Studies, Early Childhood, or Family and Consumer Sciences.
- Instructor II or Assistant Professor placement requires additional teaching experience, work experience, and/or education; placement and salary commensurate with experience and education.
- Master’s degree in Child Development, Child and Family Studies, Early Childhood, or Family and Consumer Sciences.
- Previous community college teaching experience.
