Job SummaryThe teacher will deliver high‑quality English Language Arts instruction for grades 3–5 and serve as the 4th‑grade homeroom teacher. Responsibilities include integrating Catholic teachings, maintaining a structured classroom, and supporting students’ academic, spiritual, and social development.
Job Responsibilities- Instruction & Curriculum
- Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate ELA instruction aligned with diocesan, state, and national standards for grades 3–5.
- Teach reading, writing, grammar, spelling, and vocabulary using best instructional practices.
- Differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Assess student progress with formative and summative assessments and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Integrate technology and literacy resources to enhance learning.
- Homeroom Responsibilities
- Serve as primary homeroom teacher for 4th grade students.
- Establish a positive, respectful, faith‑filled classroom environment.
- Oversee daily routines (attendance, morning prayer, announcements, organization).
- Support students’ social‑emotional growth and promote responsibility and self‑discipline.
- Faith Integration
- Integrate Catholic values and teachings into the curriculum and classroom activities.
- Lead students in daily prayer and participate in school liturgies, Masses, and religious activities.
- Uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church.
- Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding progress and expectations.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to enhance learning.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (required).
- Valid teaching certification or eligibility per diocesan/state requirements.
- Experience teaching elementary ELA preferred.
- Practicing Catholic preferred; willingness to support and uphold Catholic teachings.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Commitment to Catholic education and faith formation.
- Organizational and instructional skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Professionalism, flexibility, and dedication to student success.
Full‑time position following the academic school calendar.
