Position Description

The Raymond H. Wittcoff Community Engagement Fellow is a self‑motivated, creative individual with excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills. The aim of this work is to actively care for the most vulnerable children of our region through the strengthening of key partnerships, resulting in a deeper connection to and engagement with Nine PBS learning resources. Under the direction of the Director of Early Education, this position is responsible for delivering key Nine PBS and PBS Kids early education resources to our community with a lens on the highest need for the highest impact.

Primary

Responsibilities

The following primary responsibilities are vital to successfully meeting the expectations of this position in an effective and efficient manner. This is not an exhaustive list and areas of focus may fluctuate between the primary and secondary responsibilities, as needed.

  • Apply knowledge of public media learning resources, both locally and nationally, including PBS Learning Media, PBS KIDS educational content, local content and additional digital resources.
  • Ensure accurate and clear communication of station resources with partners.
  • Implement interactive partner experiences through utilization of station resources.
  • Maintain accurate records of engagement data and partner contacts within the Apricot system to inform potential station connections and track impact.
  • Support robust partner engagement and experiences.
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Identify opportunities, innovative approaches, and ways to deepen partnerships.
  • Work effectively with external constituents, always representing Nine PBS with integrity and professionalism to strengthen our core value of Trust.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

High school diploma required, with either applied experience in early education or college‑level coursework preferred. Additional skills required for this Fellowship include:

  • Ability to implement communications and change strategies that are effective and culturally sensitive.
  • Experience working closely with community organizations in a professional capacity, preferably related to education.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Ability to prioritize, work independently, under pressure, meet deadlines, and take direction.
  • Ability and willingness to work a varied schedule including evenings and weekends.
  • Travel throughout the St. Louis area using dependable transportation.
  • Proven ability to handle public and internal interactions with diplomacy and tact without additional supervision.
Hybrid Schedule
