Atlas is an intentionally diverse, year-round public elementary school that opened in 2021 for curious, creative, and compassionate kids. Atlas’ mission is to educate the whole child by combining a rigorous academic program with real-world, place-based learning experiences so all students thrive in middle school, high school, and beyond. Atlas’ academic program is designed to spark creative and critical thinking and engage students in challenging work that is connected across multiple disciplines.

As a result, Atlas students produce beautiful work that is meaningful to them and their community. Our year-round calendar gives students opportunities to participate in unique experiences that aren’t possible with a traditional school calendar. In this role, you are directly collaborating with the Deans of Instruction, your partner teachers, and the larger Atlas School team. An Atlas Elementary School Math Teacher is a dedicated and passionate educator responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for elementary school students. This individual will teach foundational mathematical concepts, foster a love for learning, and contribute to the overall academic and personal development of students. In this role, you are directly collaborating with the Deans of Instruction, your partner teachers, and the larger Atlas School team.

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate math lessons to elementary school students.
• Align instructional materials and activities with established curriculum standards.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students.

• Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom culture.
• Implement effective classroom management strategies to create a conducive learning environment.
• Foster a sense of community and respect among students.

• Administer assessments to evaluate students' understanding of mathematical concepts.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth.
• Collaborate with colleagues to analyze assessment data and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.

• Identify students who may need additional support in mathematics and implement targeted instruction.
• Collaborate with special education and support staff to address the unique needs of individual students.

• Integrate technology tools and resources into the math curriculum to enhance learning experiences.
• Utilize educational software and applications to reinforce mathematical concepts.
• Stay current with technological advancements relevant to elementary math education.

• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in math education.
• Collaborate with colleagues and attend workshops or conferences to enhance teaching skills.

• Establish and maintain open communication with parents regarding curriculum, student progress, and upcoming activities.
• Participate in parent-teacher conferences and other school events.
• Collaborate with the broader community to enhance students’ learning experiences outside the classroom.

• Work collaboratively with other teachers, administrators, and support staff to create a cohesive learning environment.
• Participate in grade-level or departmental meetings to coordinate curriculum and instructional strategies.
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative school culture.

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
