Part-Time Kirk Crew (3rd-5th Grade) Coordinator We have around 60 3rd-5th grade students who regularly attend our Sunday night programs and we are in need of someone who is capable of taking the lead of this ministry.  You must be able to delegate well, help our volunteers find ownership of their groups, teach an age-appropriate lesson, and connect with the students on an individual level.  

This position sits on a team of Next Generation ministry leaders and we work together to help each area flourish.  This ministry is one of the most crucial ministries as it sits between our Children’s programming and our youth programming.  Kirk crew is the first step in our discipleship program and we want a leader who is committed and comfortable taking the lead for this group.  

Lead and coordinate all of our 3rd-5th Grade programs
* Sunday School
* Sunday Night Fellowship
* Camp Crew
* 2 Events/year
* Regular contact work with students

Sunday School - 1 hour (8:45-9:45am)
* Prepare curriculum for 10-15 students
* Teach a lesson according to our Next Generation Ministry scope and sequence

Sunday Night Fellowship - 2 hours (5-7pm)
* Prepare volunteer leaders for their engagement with the night  + 6-8 volunteers who serve as grade leaders
* Prepare an age appropriate game for 40-60 students
* Teach a lesson according to our Next Generation Ministry scope and sequence

Camp Crew - 4 days (June 7-10)
* Prepare a 4 morning camp for 3rd-5th grade the same week as VBS
* Write curriculum for the week
* Recruit and equip volunteer leaders2 Events/year - 2 hours (5-7pm)
* Work with the Children’s Director to create 3rd-5th grade elements for our annual events  + Fall Festival  + Spring/Easter Contact work - 1 hour
* Connect with students and their families outside of programming  + Attending games, lunches, recess at the connected school

Administrative work
* Children’s staff meeting - 1-2 hours/week
* Prep work - 3-5 hours/week

Hours:

10 hours/week

Pay: $26/hour

This is a great position to be held while in seminary, but is not limited to someone enrolled in seminary.  It balances your study schedule well since our programming follows a school schedule.  It has seasons that are busier than others, but never more than what is listed.  It is a great opportunity to apply the theory of ministry into the context of ministry and it is alongside an established leadership team and support staff.  

Personally, I believe if you can learn to preach to this age group, you will be successful preaching to any group.
