OverviewAs a Purchasing Agent supporting MC Dean’s growing businesses, your role will include a key liaison between the Procurement team and internal stakeholders including MC Dean’s Executive Team, Engineering, Sales, and Manufacturing. You will work closely with core Program/Project teams to manage high‑visibility and high‑value programs, applying program/project management skills to ensure timely and efficient execution of MC Dean’s portfolio of projects.

Responsibilities- Serve as a key liaison between the Procurement team and internal stakeholders including Executive Team, Engineering, Sales, and Manufacturing.
- Work closely with core Program/Project teams to manage high‑visibility and high‑value programs, applying program/project management skills to assure timely and efficient execution of MC Dean’s portfolio of projects.
- Procurement planning during the bidding phase:
- Understand contract specifications and bills of material.
- Sourcing, identifying, and pre‑qualifying vendors.
- Develop comprehensive RFPs.
- Analyze multiple quotes (scope leveling) and create vendor matrices.
- Negotiate and finalize agreements.
- Develop the Procurement Plan.
- Post‑award, manage plan implementation.
- Post‑award procurement planning and implementation on major projects and programs:
- Transfer bid phase documents and knowledge to the project team.
- Engage with the project team on procurement planning & implementation.
- Capture and communicate market intelligence across projects & programs.
- Understand, evaluate, and incorporate current market conditions into procurement plans, including:
- Pricing trends.
- Lead times and logistical requirements.
- Best‑value opportunities.
- Alternative product opportunities (material cost/labor savings).
- Evolving contract compliance requirements.
- Read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.
- Travel to project sites, manufacturers, and vendors as needed.
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
- Relevant purchasing experience sourcing, negotiating contracts with OEMs, construction/specialty trade subcontractors, and fabricators.
- Proven written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and Microsoft Excel.
