Lead Estimator – Heavy Civil (Bridge & Rail)
We are seeking an experienced Lead Estimator to oversee estimating efforts for complex heavy civil bridge and rail projects. This role plays a key part in pursuing and securing large, technically challenging infrastructure work and works closely with operations and leadership to develop competitive, accurate bids.
Base Pay Range
: $140,000 – $160,000 per year
Responsibilities
:
- Lead estimating efforts for heavy civil bridge and rail projects from pursuit through bid submission.
- Prepare and review detailed cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and pricing for complex infrastructure projects.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and contract documents to assess scope, risk, and constructability.
- Coordinate with project management, engineering, and field operations to develop accurate production rates and schedules.
- Lead subcontractor and supplier outreach, bid leveling, and pricing evaluations.
- Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.
- Support post‑bid reviews and project handoff to operations.
Qualifications
:
- Proven experience estimating complex heavy civil bridge and rail projects.
- Strong understanding of heavy civil construction means and methods related to bridges, rail, and infrastructure.
- Experience leading estimates on large, high‑value projects.
- Ability to mentor and guide junior estimators.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
