Job Title:

Senior Process Engineer

Job Description The Senior Process Engineer is instrumental in maintaining the integrity of manufacturing, quality, and food safety objectives. This role focuses on optimizing production line layouts, equipment improvements, and ensuring overall manufacturing efficiency and product quality. Collaboration with teams across various departments offers a clear path for growth into a Director of Engineering role. This is a high-impact opportunity for a detail-oriented and growth-driven engineering professional ready to step into leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Design, budget, implement, and optimize new and existing manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
  • Track project budgets and report monthly status.
  • Analyze production yields and workflows to identify bottlenecks and develop solutions to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to equipment malfunctions, process failures, or product defects.
  • Utilize operational excellence tools to drive improvement and quantify results, reporting key metrics monthly.
  • Manage the Maintenance team, ensuring proper training, resource allocation, and schedules.
  • Lead, improve, and develop preventative/predictive maintenance programs.
  • Manage maintenance budgets and report results to Senior management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of new technologies or process refinement.
  • Manage relationships with outside contractors and equipment vendors.
  • Support profitability and KPI reporting.
  • Implement and manage continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs, improve productivity, and enhance quality.
  • Mentor and train cross-functional team members.
Essential Skills
  • 5 years of food plant engineering, process engineering, or related manufacturing experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related scientific field.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, CAD, and Mini Tab.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, USDA, and FDA as they relate to the food processing industry.
  • Experience with GFSI and SQF guidelines.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar certification preferred.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in process engineering, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement in the food industry.
  • Interpersonal skills to work with external vendors and manage new projects.
  • Experience in FDA environments, preferably food-related.
  • Ability to manage multiple production lines simultaneously and optimize equipment flow.
  • Project management skills to collaborate and communicate cross-functionally.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62.50 – $70.67/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
