ANDRITZ Bitrode Corporation in St. Louis (South County) area is looking to hire a full-time Field Service Technician. Do you have training/education in electrical engineering? Field Service Technician starts at $28.00/hour with potential higher offers to those with experience, plus a travel premium when on service trips. This job is not for everyone as there will be extensive in‑house training prior to visiting our customers and then 50% of your time is spent traveling to customers. The position will be based in St. Louis, MO.

What do our Field Service Technicians do?

Our Field Service Technicians commission and troubleshoot our machines in the field at customer sites. You would need to learn each product’s specifications in‑house prior to travel where you will be the face of ANDRITZ Bitrode while at customers working on our products. You will perform service duties while building a relationship with the customer to increase our service business. We will need you to ensure products meet customer specifications as well as any safety and quality requirements.

You would need to troubleshoot various electrical problems by thinking critically to solve complex problems and recognize and report quality issues through the correct channels as they arise. You will calibrate our products for the customer. We would need you to test our products at power levels up to 600

VAC 3‑phase and 2000

VDC.

You would need to record data, write reports, and process paperwork accurately. We would have you use multi‑meters, HiPot test equipment, digital oscilloscope, PC‑based monitoring, and variable transformers.

We will provide you with arc‑flash protective clothing for your safety. We also have a reimbursement program for prescription safety glasses and toe protective shoes.

Once you are fully trained, you will travel to customer sites to service or commission our machines. This requires you to be a self‑starter. You would need to make scheduled flights and drive to various locations in the USA on your own. You would need to professionally represent ANDRITZ Bitrode while at the customer.

What makes you qualified for this role?
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally for service calls (travel up to 50% of the time)
  • Minimum of a two‑year degree in Electrical Engineering or similar electrical knowledge
  • Schematic reading and knowledge of electrical/electronic circuitry is essential
  • Previous knowledge and experience with multimeters, voltmeters, HiPot test equipment, and oscilloscope preferred
  • Ability to use shop and hand tools to work on equipment
  • Ability to troubleshoot customer issues via email, phone, and onsite

Any experience in electrical product testing would be amazing!

Bitrode does require a background check and basic drug screening upon receiving an offer of employment.
